In 1953 I was beaten by my schoolmaster for not being able to memorize Shakespeare… I enjoyed listening to your reading, thank you

You look happy tonight, and cheerfulness sounds in your voice.

I was looking at Shakespeare's sonnets and re-reading some of them just yesterday, too.

Which one is your favorite, Fram? I know a total of 15 by heart...

I can't say that I have a favorite, Natalie. To be honest, I had forgotten them after college until when I moved into this house a couple of years ago and was unpacking books. My college text containing them caught my attention, so I quit unpacking and started reading.

I pulled out the book the other day thinking I might pick one to put at the end of a blog post but, as you have seen, did not select one to post. I'll get back to it.

Fifteen? Absolutely fantastic.

Your smiles seem to be getting even brighter.

I smile from pleasure of reading… With a feeling that I am one of the few who knows whether the true treasure is…
My favorites are few, # 144 (Two loves I have of comfort and despair…”), # 145 (“Those lips that Love’s own hand did make…”)

I'm working ....

I will read them later, while you are sleeping ....

I have to admit that I always found Shakespeare's sonnets more enticing than his plays, except for Othello, which I will be re-reading very soon. Many thanks for a wonderful read, comrade.

Greetings from London.

Couldn’t agree with you more on “enticing” part. Unfortunately, I haven’t read Shakespeare's plays in English.
I have to mention that there were two Russian translators of Shakespearean plays and they were superb… (Boris Pasternak was one of them).
Thank you for your kind words on my readings.

Natalie as a Theatre major it thrills me to hear Shakespeare. I love everything he wrote, even the more obscure and less perfected plays. My favorite sonnets are XXIII and XXIX.

Love Scorpios, my daughter is a Scorpio.

I will try to record No. 29 over this weekend, and I will read for you, Yoli.
Say hello to a little Scorpio for me.
Thank you for stopping by.
